Thank you Fly Tot for sponsoring this post; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. Flying with your child can sound super scary, but it doesn’t have to be difficult. The first time I flew with Izzy she was 4 months old and I …
Thank you to Food Terminal for hosting us. As always all thoughts and opinions shared are 100% my own. A few weeks back I enjoyed some quality girl time with fellow blogger friends of mine. We all met online through the blogging community and decided …
Joe and I haven’t been on a trip alone since our honeymoon so when we decided it was time for another we wanted to go somewhere that was gorgeous and where we could just relax. We were up for hours searching the web and trying to decide between a resort or a cruise and if a resort, where and which one?
The photos don’t do this place justice! It’s seriously a gorgeous location and was a fabulous vacation for us, just the two of us. Being parents makes keeping the relationship a live a lot more work so we really enjoyed having time to focus on each other.
We saw plenty of people with and without children and wondered, should we have brought Izzy with us. Even though she would have had a great time, we were glad we decided to get away alone.
When you check in you get waterproof bracelets to show you are staying at the resort.
Here is a little tour of our adventures and stay from July 2016.
All of the rooms look out towards the resort and water! How awesome is that?
There are two pools, a family friendly pool and an adult only pool. We went without Isabella so we stayed over at the adult pool, obviously. 😉 Staff waits on you at the pool taking drink orders and food orders. Really unless you need to go to the bathroom or are moving from your seat to the pool, there is no reason to get up. Pure relaxation and vacation mode!
Snag some food from the Oceanside, staff will get you food from there. Oh and if you like fish tacos.. get the fish tacos!
Best drinks at the pool? Rum and Tequila Experience is the place! Seriously the BEST drinks and the bar tender will even make up drinks for you. Tell her what your favorite flavors are, she’s a mixologist so will make you something delicious and off the menu! We told all our pool buddies about her and they raved that she made awesome drinks too. Oh and yes the pool staff can get you drinks from there, but I suggest you go up and meet the mixologist yourself.
Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort has mini golf, tennis, golf and a spa. You can also rent golf carts to drive around the resort, which we of course did for one day.
There are such gorgeous flowers, plants, buildings and decor. You will be wowed by the details.
We stopped at one of the little shops and got ourselves some darling souvenir cups for the trip.
Guys the beach is just a short walk from your room and it’s gorgeous! We even watched dolphins swimming in the distance one day.
The restaurants are amazing but our all time favorite was Bob’s. We actually went to twice because we loved it so much. The ambiance, food and staff were phenomenal. It’s a great restaurant to get dolled up and have a sweet date night at. I wouldn’t consider it super kid friendly, unless your child is well behaved. Also, if you love steak, you’re welcome.
Weather you want to go as a family trip or as a couple I highly suggest you check out Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort. Cheers guys!
Do you love to travel or try to travel at least 1 time a year? We are making an effort now to have a yearly getaway without Izzy and a yearly family trip. Even if it’s a stay-cation or weekend trip we want to get …
