Clothing Swaps

When you start to learn about what are clothes made of and how they can harm your health and hormones, you start to think about swapping them out. But often people aren’t sure where to start or where to shop.

Your skin is your largest organ

That’s why I’m sharing my favorite family swaps.

Keep in mind some of the brands I’m an affiliate with and have discount codes for you and others I do not, but that doesn’t make me love them any less. I sadly, just won’t have a discount to offer you.

I always say to start with these items when swapping to natural fabrics and if you can’t go completely organic that’s okay, but for these 3 items we do strive to only get organic and natural fabrics: Bras, Underwear & Socks

I talked about GOTS and maybe you have heard about it before, but what does it mean? GOTS certified means that a textile product meets the Global Organic Textile Standard, which ensures that it is made from at least 70% organic fibers and adheres to strict environmental and social criteria throughout the entire production process. This certification guarantees that the product is free from harmful chemicals and produced under fair labor conditions. We do love to see this certification!

Beyond the chemicals, having clothing made from real fabrics vs synthetic help with your frequency. You can and should look into it. EVERYTHING has a frequency and your clothing can impact yours. Cotton is around the same as us, organic cotton for sure. Linen and Wool have a higher frequency so they are great for helping your body if it’s not well (allegedly)… If you are anything like me, you believe this to be true. Now it is also known and even shared in the Bible that linen and wool are not to be worn together because they frequencies will counter each other out. This is because their frequencies flow in opposite directions.

Ready for the swaps? First up will be baby and kid swaps, if you are’t interested in that just scroll until you see the image that says, “Men & Women“.

Clothing:

At the very least, try to find products that are made with non synthetic fibers. Polyester (is plastic) & is linked to hormone disruption. But also, do not be fooled by bamboo fabric. This is what we call a greenwashed fabric. Made to sound like a better option, but it in fact is not. The bamboo fabric goes through a massive chemical process making it also a no no for us. But of course, go ahead and do your own research, this is just my opinion. When we shop, we are looking for natural fabrics such as cotton (100% organic cotton is even better), wool, linen, hemp or silk.

Some of our favorite brands are:

Q for Quinn This is my favorite brand for kids underwear & socks! This brand is amazing for the entire family. They have underwear, bras, socks and are expanding their women’s line even more. Shop Q for Quinn and receive a free pair of socks with this link on your first order.

Svante makes kids athletic wear. When a mother discovered the clothing her kids were wearing and sweating in were causing her kids harm she set out to create a brand with cleaner options for kids. They have sports bras, tops, bottoms and more! We are loving our pieces from this brand. For 10% off use code: BUSY

Mini Mioche We recently found this brand and the clothing is sooo soft! I love that the styles are simple and easy to mix n match. They have baby sizes up to 13/14. Izzy is a comfort girl and these styles are perfect for active kids that love comfort, but also still look put together. They don’t use toxic dyes, PFAS, harsh chemicals and so much more. Go check them out and learn more about this brand, I think you will LOVE it!

Crann Organic Izzy is obsessed with their sweatpants, sweatshirts, tops, shorts… okay she loves it all! My kid is all about comfort and this brand has nailed it!

Hanna Andersson Note, not everything is organic or non synthetic so just read the product info for details. We do obviously get leggings with spandex, because they need to stretch. Almost all of their pjs are 100% organic cotton.

Reima They are known for having PFAs free clothing. They have jackets that obviously are synthetic, but not having PFAs is a huge win. We also love their Merino Wool base layers for chilly outside play days or layering under jackets/snow gear.

Shop from our Amazon picks, which include from these brands and more.

Shoes:

Leather or cotton are our favorites, but I know with kids plastic is often needed for rain/water protection. We look for wide shoes or shoes with a proper toe box so we don’t squish her feet as they develop. Splay is one of our favorite brands for shoes! They actually have adult sizes/styles that I love as well. This brand is known for their “barefoot” style shoe. They also started off by making canvas only shoes which are super comfy and breathable.

I always look for organic cotton for my underwear and bras or merino wool, same for my husband’s boxers. As for socks also look for wool or organic cotton. If you can’t always find or get organic, that’s okay do your best to move from synthetic fabrics to natural fabrics. Here are some brands that will help you slowly swap your closet to cleaner options. Don’t forget your skin is your largest organ and it will absorb toxins from clothing.

Q for Quinn This brand is amazing for the entire family. They have underwear, bras, socks and are expanding their women’s line even more. Maternity and activewear is finally released! Shop Q for Quinn and receive a free pair of socks with this link on your first order.

Maggies Organics I love this brand because they have so many options. They have clothing for men and women, they also have some accessories and socks. I first discovered this company because of their socks. I was on the hunt for wool and cotton socks to use for the wet sock treatment and then I discovered they have so many amazing options beyond their incredible socks. Save with CODE: BUSY15 This code with stack with any promos as well!

I hope this makes your swaps easier and I’ll continue adding to this post as I discover more incredible brands!
