Blue Hydration Drink Recipe

Blue Hydration Drink Recipe

Say bye bye to those nasty and toxic “sports” drinks.

This recipe is simple and filled with ingredients to nourish and hydrate your body.

Purified water is a must because this will help you hydrate and flush out toxins. This link will give you a discount on my favorite brand. We have used this brand in our past homes and current home.

Lemon is a must for flavor and as a detox support.

Salt is necessary, but not just any old table salt… yuck!

We use Redmond’s Real Salt! Why? Your body NEEDS minerals to hydrate your cells. This is a brand we buy for cooking and adding to water for extra hydration.

Lastly, blue spirulina… a powerhouse algae!

Blue spirulina has so many health benefits, here are some: antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, immune system support, detox and liver support, exercise recovery support, potential anti-C properties.

The sourcing of your blue spirulina is important which is why I only buy from certain brands. I linked my favorite one here.

And yes, I do make my own ice with my purified water. 🙂

To make this drink add ice & water to a glass.

Next add salt (1/8 tsp or less of salt) and a squeeze of a lemon slice.

Finally add your blue spirulina we add about 1/8-1/4 tsp of it to our glass.

You might have to squish little blue powder balls against the side of the glass to really mix it in, but honestly it’s easy peasy.

If your kids need some added sweetness you could add a little honey or maple syrup to the drink. But we don’t, just an option for you guys.

Alright, let me know what you think! Izzy LOVES when we make these, which is just about daily in the summer. Who doesn’t love a bright blue drink?

XO Eryka
