St. Simons Island and The King & Prince Resort

St. Simons Island and The King & Prince Resort

I wanted to give you a deeper look into The King & Prince Beach And Golf Resort we stayed at and vacationing on St. Simons Island. I tried to break it down simple for you organizing with big gold titles, short blurbs and LOTS of photos. I hope this makes it easy as you search through this post and find everything you are looking for.

First off I wanted to say that I could’t have imagined a better vacation for my family. I have been to other Islands for vacation and enjoyed my stay, but not like this. You can really feel the sense of community when visiting SSI. The King and Prince Resort was absolutely fabulous and I 100% will be going back! From the lobby to their restaurant Echo, to the pools that overlook the ocean to the beach. I could go on and on here, but I feel to really give you sense of what we experienced I needed to share LOTS of photos. They don’t do The King and Prince Resort justice and honestly I can’t fully express in words the amazing memories you will make here, so you are just going to need to experience that for yourself!

The King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort

Inside The North Villas

Each Villa is a bit different with their own decor and each has been renovated differently. They are independently owned and while some are in a rental pool others are not and some even stay year round in their Villa. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath Villa. We really enjoyed having a room for Izzy and a room for ourselves. This allowed us to put her to bed and not need to immediately go to sleep as well. In the Villa there is also kitchen, living space, balcony and washer and dryer. Not to mention the North Villas have their own private pool and hot tub!

The master bedroom had a walk out to the balcony, which also means oceans views from your bed! This balcony is just far enough away from the beach that it’s very private. Hypothetically you could have coffee in your boxers while watching and listening to the morning waves.

We had to stay just one more day and wanted to experience another part of the resort. On our last day/night we stayed in a room that overlooked the pool and beach. It had 2 queen beds and was beautifully decorated with bright whites and blues.

Around The Resort

I know you are itching to look around The King and Prince Resort so here we go!

There are 3 pools to enjoy in the main area. One has the typical max of 5 feet deep water, another 3 and the last is 1 foot. The one foot pool has a little “mushroom” fountain… it’s a little froggy.

For those who may need a break from the sun or have littles that need a nap. There is plenty of shade if needed when at the pool. Izzy napped under the umbrella shade one day and under the pergola another day.

The rooms behind Izzy in the last 2 shots are where we stayed on our last night. We needed just one more day on this gorgeous Island and at this magical resort!

If I we brought Izzy’s grandparents, you best believe I’d be escaping to those chairs facing the ocean and taking a little snooze.

On the beach we enjoyed playing in the sun, walking the sand bars and exploring for sea creatures. Being a teacher it was a fun science “outing” walking along the sand bars and seeing a big red and blue crab, a large and starfish and hermit crabs. It was a first for my husband and Izzy to see a living starfish in the wild.

If you didn’t bring chairs and an umbrella or just don’t want to hassle with any you did bring, you can rent some from the resort. I have to say, these chairs are SUPER comfortable! If we didn’t have a toddler to chase around and play with all day… I think we would have been napping in them!

Behind Izzy in this shot you see the North Villas, where we stayed all but one day/night.

Restaurant On Resort: Echo

ECHO is a gorgeous restaurant right on the resort. So technically you could just stay at the resort the whole time if you want. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The majority of the seating indoors is near windows. I loved this because you get all that natural lighting and in some areas can view the ocean.

We enjoyed eating outdoors because we could see and hear the ocean. Izzy loved feeding little birds some bread that would hop over by her chair. It was pure magic watching her giggle and drop another crumb of bread as she waited for the next bird to jump over and grab it.

If you love a good sundae then order the Shipwreck Sundae! As you can see it’s colorful and fun! This dessert has ice-cream topped with fresh fruit, bright sprinkles and whipped cream.

Beyond the dessert, ECHO has fabulous food! The flavors and presentation are on point.

Around The Island

The Pier was about a mile walk from where we stayed. It was really a manageable distance. In fact, we walked down to the pier 3 times while on our trip. There are tons of adorable little shops and so many restaurants.

One of the restaurants we enjoyed while at the Pier was some fine dining at Georgia Sea Grill.

The decor in and out, so stunning! The food and service here was incredible.

Their cocktails were on point! And yes they come filled to the top. Someone had a couple sips before I snapped a capture of our vacation mode beverages.

If you want your eyes and taste buds to be wowed then you have to add Georgia Sea Grill to your list. I just want to say, they bring out rolls with a bourbon pecan butter. Yes you did read that correctly. I’ll let the next few photos do the rest of the talking for me.

Also a quick drive from the resort we found the most amazing and affordable little bagel shop. Sandy Bottom Bagels had us coming back for more… yes we went more than once.

The food was amazing… hence why we returned for more. The bagels are authentic New York bagels, hand rolled, kettle boiled and so fresh! They don’t have any preservatives or dough conditioners in them. The service was amazing! All of the employees were super friendly and helpful with ordering. They even gave us ideas of other things to do, places to eat and visit at the Pier.

Although I highly suggest you try one of their bagels, you don’t have to. If you or someone you are traveling with isn’t a bagel fan, they have more on the menu. The first time we went we got Izzy a plate with eggs, bacon and a hash brown. The next time she got a bagel with bacon. They even have mini bagels!

If lox is on the menu, you best believe I’m going to order it. I’m looking at this photo as I type, wishing the real thing would just pop out.

Craving Mexican Food? We found such a fun little spot called Bubba Garcias. They have the cutest little patio. Can I also say, they have the BEST enchilada sauce? All the food that came out looked amazing and based on the food Joe and I had… I’m assuming it tasted amazing too! Izzy had a blast too and devoured their chips, black beans and rice.

If you love treats you have to check out St. Simons Sweets! We were told about this darling shop from the locals that work at Sandy Bottom Bagels. You will find this fun sweet treat gem at the Pier, about a mile walk from The King And Prince Resort.

Do you like riding bikes? You can rent some and ride around St. Simons, to the Pier or even on the beach.

The Pier aka Pier Village

There is a lot to explore at the Pier. There is plenty of parking if you prefer to drive, but we enjoyed the walk from our resort. As stated above this is where you will find Georgia Sea Grill and St. Simons Sweets. Other restaurants at the Pier we also enjoyed trying out were Mullet Bay and Barbra Jeans. Mullet Bay has a massive patio and played live music the night we were there. Izzy loves live music! Izzy had fun on the playground which is also right at the Pier. They also have a lighthouse you can tour and mini golf! Like I said, lots to do!

Walking to the Pier, we loved this walk!

Have you ever been to St. Simons Island? If you plan to go back or for the first time I hope you got some great ideas on where to stay, eat how you can spend your time vacationing here. St. Simons Island was truly a magical place. I see why so many families continue to visit year after year and new generations bring their family to explore and experience this gorgeous Island and community. We will visit again!

A huge thank you to The King and Prince Resort, Sandy Bottom Bagels, Georgia Sea Grill, ECHO and Bubba Garcias for partnering with me on this perfectly magical family staycation.

XO Eryka
