Teaching Healthy Eating Habits

Teaching Healthy Eating Habits

Thank you Mentari for sending these amazing toys, so we could work on healthy eating habits with Izzy. As always all thoughts and opinions expressed here are 100% my own.

Healthy eating starts with you in the home and what your child sees you buy at that grocery store

Like most toddlers, Izzy takes in EVERYTHING! You may think she’s ignoring you, but she heard what you said and saw what you did.

I am thoughtful about what we buy at the grocery store and what we eat. Izzy has obvisouly picked up on it because she talks about making kale and spinach smoothies and cutting up veggies… all the time.

To encourage this behavior and keep her on track with thinking vegetables are good for you to eat, we keep many healthy foods toys including vegetables in the house.

I love the wooden sets that Mentari Tender Leaf Toys carries. The have some with cutting boards and knives so Izzy can practice chopping veggies even during dinner while I’m cooking. She LOVES to copy mommy and daddy.

She practices grocery shopping with her wooden cart also from Mentari Tender Leaf Toys. Guys I’m a sucker for wooden toys. Izzy tells me she’s going to the Teddy Mart. Our dog’s name is Teddy, isn’t that the cutest?

If you want to encourage healthy habits, show your children you are following these habits and give them toys to continue to act it out in play.

XO Eryka
