Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

I’m honored to share Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and their partnership with Little Partners. Thank you Little Partners for sending this amazing cook book to go along with our Learning Tower.
One of my biggest fears as a parent is seeing my child fall ill. Childhood cancer is something that really hurts me to the core and scares me so much. I hate the thought of a child having to go through something so scary, exhausting and isolating. Cancer is isolating for not only the child, but the family.
Izzy and I have been enjoying a very special cookbook from Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, created a cookbook called Alex’s Table. This cookbook features over 55 recipes from world-renowned chefs (such as Giada DeLaurentiis, Tyler Florence, Marc Forgione, Mary Sue Milliken), influential mixologists, celebrities and supporters.
What is Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation?
Well today Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is a national childhood cancer foundation!
The mission? Raise funds that go towards researching new ways to cure and treat children battling cancer. This foundation is empowering to kids around the country. It has inspired many to get involved by encouraging them to set up their own lemonade stands and help raise money for this special cause.
Who is Alex?
Alexandra “Alex” Scott started Alex’s Lemonade Stand when she was battling her own cancer. Mind you, she was only 4 years old! She number one wanted to raise money for cancer research. Number two, living through the hardships of cancer, she wanted to improve the quality of life for children with cancer and also for their families. This sweet and thoughtful child told her mother while in the hospital receiving a stem cell transplant, that she wanted to host a lemonade stand as soon as she got out. She hoped to raise a good amount of money to give to doctors who could help kids like her. She did this until her passing in 2004.
Her mission behind her lemonade stands spread very rapidly. By the time she passed, the efforts of her and the people she inspired raised over $1 million for research to help find a cure for the cancer she so bravely faced.
Little Partners in the Kitchen
We LOVE our Little Partners Learning Tower. It’s a must I think for all parents. It allows your child to be up at your level in the kitchen. Izzy can play, help me cook and see what I’m doing up at the counter or island.
Little Partners has partnered with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for the month of September to help raise awareness of this foundation. If you purchase the Original Learning Tower or Limited Learning Tower you will get a free Alex’s Table cookbook.
Izzy loves coloring while the food we made bakes or cooks. It’s pretty nifty that her tower doubles as an easel.
