Atlanta’s Unique Breakfast and Brunch Eats in Kirkwood

Atlanta’s Unique Breakfast and Brunch Eats in Kirkwood

Thank you to Le Petit Marche and Sun In My Belly for the complementary meals, we enjoyed dining with you.  As always all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

I had the honor of breakfast and brunching with some of my blogger girlfriends who came into ATL. We spent a girls weekend chatting, laughing, taking pictures and eating. We visited Atlanta sites and of course had to try some of the best eats in ATL. I wanted to share two spots we found in Kirkwood that are perfect for breakfast and brunching.

Le Petit Marche

1984 Hosea L. Williams Drive
Atlanta, GA 30317

Le Petit Marche is just darling. While dining you will most likely run into the owner Marchet. When I walked in, decor immediately gave off the chic farm feel with a touch of home. Homey, how so? Little touches such as the china hung on the walls are from Marchet’s grandmother. But it’s not just the decor that makes you feel at home; it’s the whole experience. The smells of the food & the employees friendly and sweet demeanor add to the ambiance.

The food.. did your ears perk up? It was incredible! From the presentation to the flavors each meal was truly delicious. We all tried a bite of each other’s meals so we could really understand the LOVE that went into this food. The grits were the BEST I’ve ever had in Atlanta.

You know what was the funniest thing? Marchet practiced and practiced because she’s not from Atlanta. She’s from California. When she started her breakfast shop, she was told she needed to add grits to the menu. She had no idea how to make them and even more importantly, make them taste good. So hats off to her for creating the most delicious recipe. If you love grits, give them a try!

The decor is amazing! How darling are the photos of Marchet’s Mom and Pop on the wall?

We had time to speak with Marchet, the owner, and she’s gorgeous inside and out. She originally started her business as a fresh market 10 years ago. With the recession that had taken place, it just wasn’t catching on. She did notice people were interested in the food she had available vs the locally made pantry items from her gourmet market & cafe. After about a year and almost going out of business, Marchet changed the business bringing FOOD & breakfast front and center.

Some details about the food we tried:

Grit Stack (sausage from local shop) ~best grits we all have ever tried
French Toast Sandwich  (sausage from local shop)
Mediterranean (the pesto was amazing)

Gluten free, dairy free, & nut free accommodations

Details about ordering:

Walk in, order and pay a counter, self serve juice/coffee, choose your seat
A local pointed out the homemade cookies made my Marchet’s mother. She also told us that the line can get long on the weekends because this is a hot spot to eat!

Sun in My Belly

2161 College Ave NE

We spoke with manager Matt for quite sometime. He’s a sweetheart. All of the staff were friendly and hustled. The whole restaurant has a rustic and cozy feel. There is a seating area with couches to chill with a coffee and fresh baked goody. The decor is gorgeous from the strung lights to the painted mason jars & the fresh flowers at each table. Settle in and enjoy the food because it’s mouthwatering and flavorful!

Some details about the food we tried:

Callah French Toast -Just the right sweetness and the fresh fruit was perfectly ripe
PBLT –Pimento, Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwich  (optional egg), a little taste of heaven in your mouth, if you are a pimento cheese lover like me
Yogurt parfait – If yogurt always tasted this good I’d eat it every meal
Lucy salad –
delicious, fresh and perfect for the gluten, dairy and peanut free customers
