Creating Happy Car Rides with Maxi-Cosi

Creating Happy Car Rides with Maxi-Cosi

I received the mentioned carseat from Maxi-Cosi for an host review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

Okay guys, since Izzy came home from the hospital she hated the car. Who else has/had a kid who hates or hated the car? As soon as she was a good weight and held her head up, we had moved her from an infant seat to a convertible in hopes it would help. It did help, a lot. Izzy still doesn’t love the car, but she’s sooo much better and can ride for over 30 minute without crying! That’s a big deal for us.

I’m going to share with you all some tips I’ve learned along the journey during Izzy’s 2 years of life.

1. Keep Them Occupied

Doesn’t matter if they have an iPad/tablet, portable toys, books or scribble pad.. just give your baby/child something age appropriate that they don’t need to be monitored with. Izzy’s iPad has been our life saver since Izzy was very young. We would open an app for her or a show to watch and lock the screen so she could play in the app, but not get out of it. We practiced teaching her the iPad in unlocked mode and once she mastered it she now has full access to her tablet while in the car. She goes in and out of apps to play educational games and can even get into her movies and watch Mickey or Elmo.

We keep the iPad pretty exclusive to the car and this helps her get excited for a carried because she knows she will get to play on the iPad. So think about having special toys exclusive for the car. A little basket with toys that you can switch out is also perfect.

2. Make Sure They Are Fed Or Full

If your kiddo isn’t big enough to have a snack in the car make sure they aren’t hungry before packing them in. Don’t give that finicky car ride kid any reason to fuss! Izzy gets some puffs or simple snacks here and there in the car now because we are on the go and running errands a lot. Our carseat is the Maxi-Cosi Sweater Knit Convertible Pria 85 and it has a built in cup holder! Which can be used for snacks or a drink.

3. Comfort Is Key

If your baby or toddler isn’t comfortable then they surely are not going to be a happy camper in the car. Finding a comfortable and cute carseat doesn’t have to be hard, but it often is. Everyone has an opinion on what carseat to use and why. So obviously I’m going to give you my input.

We have the Maxi-Cosi Sweater Knit Convertible Carseat Pria 85. The second we opened it up Izzy jumped in. She seriously looks so much more comfortable in it. I kind of wanted one in my size… no joke.

This super cozy fabric not only looks super adorable, but it offers a first class ride! We chose the darling Marlin color which I think is comparable to periwinkle. The Maxi-Cosi Sweater Collection also comes in Shadow Grey and Pink.

Why do I as a mom love the Maxi-Cosi Sweater Collection Pria 85? It is specially designed to fit better in your car. How? It allows more room for your passengers to stretch out in the front seats! With an over 6ft husband this is a big plus for us. Okay cleaning the carseat, it’s typically impossible. But guys this carseat makes it so simple. There is a seat pad that unsnaps and removes easily over the frame, so no need to take it out of the car.

The Pria 85 is for children 14-85lbs, but if you have an infant, don’t feel left out! The Maxi-Cosi Sweater Collection carries infant seats too and man are they adorable. It ALMOST makes me want to have another… almost guys.

Hope you all have happy car rides from here on out!

XO Eryka
