Baked Artichoke Pasta & Cleaning up with Scotch-Brite®

Cooking meals means cleaning. I’ll be honest cleaning is my least favorite part of cooking. I will say that thanks to my Scotch-Brite® Heavy Duty Scrub Sponge and Scotch-Brite® Non-Scratch Scrub Sponge cleaning is must easier and quicker.
Remember how I told you that Izzy and I ventured to our new Walmart, well we went back. Below I’m showing you were to find these sponges so ease your shopping adventure.
Each sponge is made to clean different types of messes without ruining your cookware or counters. To clean up my glass pan after cooking my delicious baked pasta dish (recipe below) I use my Scotch-Brite® Heavy Duty Scrub Sponge, it’s green. This sponge cleans tough baked on messes with ease. I use it to clean my pots, pans, oven racks and stove top racks. Beyond cooking, it’s also great for cleaning the garage (such as tools) or outdoors (such as tires) as well.
The Scotch-Brite® Non-Scratch Scrub Sponge (which is blue), is perfect for when I need to clean up the counters. My mom and husband tell me I’m the messiest cook. But hey, the food tastes good so, who can really complain, right?
I’m also of course sharing one of my favorite baked dishes, which will require the Scotch-Brite Heavy Duty Sponge to clean once you devour the meal. If you love artichokes feel free to add two cans instead of one. 😉
- 1 package/box (16 oz) uncooked pasta (your choice: penne, ziti, rotini or rigatoni)
- 4 cups marinara sauce (either homemade or store bought)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
- 1 container (15 oz) ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz)
- 1 can of sliced artichokes
- Cook pasta in generously salted water 3 minutes less than recommended on package & then drain.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
- Pour 2 cups of the marinara sauce into dish and drop some artichoke slices in. Add half of cooked pasta & toss well.
- Sprinkle with 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese & spoon half of the ricotta cheese in dollops over top. Sprinkle with 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers ending with mozzarella cheese. Cover lightly with foil, making sure foil is not resting on cheese.
- Bake 35 minutes. Uncover; bake 10 to 15 minutes longer or until center is bubbly and thoroughly heated. Cool 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
