DIY Mother’s Day Craft

For celebrations such as Mother’s Day I love to create something. Here is a simple and different DIY craft that you can use for any celebration.
What will you need?
- Wood Burner
- Wood, anything! It can be a box or slab anything you prefer. Go to a craft store and you can find a lot of fun stuff!
- Paint
- Mod Podge
First you will want to create your image on the wood with the paint. I chose to make flowers with Izzy’s hand prints. If it were Valentine’s Day you could use feet to make a heart, get creative! Baby wipes are pretty handy during this part so have them near by.
Second get your wood burner out and make sure the read the directions about how to remove the tools from the end. I got letters to go on the end of mine so that I could have clear writing. It’s really hard to freehand with a wood burner until you have more practice and it goes very slow.
Third you are going to use the Mod Podge as a coating to protect the paint and wood. Read the directions. Most will tell you to put 2-3 coats giving 1-2 hours between the coats so they can fully dry. I bought the Mod Podge that can get wet and is dishwasher safe. There is quite a variety to choose from.
Add some other touches like a balloon and some flowers and you are done!
Simple, unique and fun! I hope you enjoyed this DIY!
